Paranoia

Over the years I have attended countless UFO & Conspiracy Conferences and one theme always prevails - paranoia. Anyone investigating, writing about or just generally hob-knobbing in the UFO & Conspiracy circles is generally very paranoid. In 2003 I had reached a point in my own personal limitations that if I heard one more story about an attendee that was abducted by aliens on the way to a conference and then pursued by nefarious government agents afterward; I would puke. I even set a camera up at our conference table and with permission would video these accounts.

Recently, I was reading an account where a noted and seasoned military person was refuting claims by aductees of military involvement in their temporary temporal snatching. I respectfully agree and disagree with this man’s response.

"The reason that no agency would engage in such a preposterous program is the potential for repercussions versus value added. We can find no value added by unauthorized, illegal monitoring of individuals who are self-proclaimed MILABs. After all, a volunteer program would net better results and at no risk. In this day and age, any agency caught conducting such outrageous experiments as has been postulated would risk both severe personal and organizational consequences. My educated guess is that the organization would be disbanded and individuals sent to jail. Again, a simple cost-benefit analysis completely destroys the logic of conducting such an illegal project."

I agree wholly with this person’s response to this article at a military level. I disagree at the federal level. I believe it is intrinsically important for the general public to understand the differences between military based intelligence agencies and federal level intelligence/law enforcement agencies.

Since 911 there has been a significant overlap between agencies with the sole goal to prevent terrorism on our country’s soil. I salute our men and women who give up so much to serve this one goal. Let’s face it,foreign intelligence agents are sneaky bastards and they can be anyone. Their wiley ways are not something that the average Joe can even begin to understand or decipher.

With this dire directive on the plate; let’s move on. I believe clarification of just a handful of agencies may clear the fog a bit. Military based intelligence agencies are really focused on threats on foreign soil. Federal level intelligence/law enforcement agencies are generally focused on threats on U.S. soil. I am not going to pigeon hole any of these agencies into neat little slots of operation; there are none.

So; if your being repeatedly abducted and wish to lay blame on the military complex of this nation for your sorrows. Let’s take a step back; and try to figure just ‘who’ your really trying to blame. NSA, CIA, DIA, FBI, DEA, Federal Marshals, Secret Service or Homeland Security.

The NSA’s Mission Statement:"The ability to understand the secret communications of our foreign adversaries while protecting our own communications -- a capability in which the United States leads the world -- gives our nation a unique advantage."

The DEA’s Mission:
The mission of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is to enforce the controlled substances laws and regulations of the United States and bring to the criminal and civil justice system of the United States, or any other competent jurisdiction, those organizations and principal members of organizations, involved in the growing, manufacture, or distribution of controlled substances appearing in or destined for illicit traffic in the United States; and to recommend and support non-enforcement programs aimed at reducing the availability of illicit controlled substances on the domestic and international markets.

In carrying out its mission as the agency responsible for enforcing the controlled substances laws and regulations of the United States, the DEA's primary responsibilities include:

Investigation and preparation for the prosecution of major violators of controlled substance laws operating at interstate and international levels.

Investigation and preparation for prosecution of criminals and drug gangs who perpetrate violence in our communities and terrorize citizens through fear and intimidation.

Management of a national drug intelligence program in cooperation with federal, state, local, and foreign officials to collect, analyze, and disseminate strategic and operational drug intelligence information.

Seizure and forfeiture of assets derived from, traceable to, or intended to be used for illicit drug trafficking.

Enforcement of the provisions of the Controlled Substances Act as they pertain to the manufacture, distribution, and dispensing of legally produced controlled substances.

Coordination and cooperation with federal, state and local law enforcement officials on mutual drug enforcement efforts and enhancement of such efforts through exploitation of potential interstate and international investigations beyond local or limited federal jurisdictions and resources.

Coordination and cooperation with federal, state, and local agencies, and with foreign governments, in programs designed to reduce the availability of illicit abuse-type drugs on the United States market through nonenforcement methods such as crop eradication, crop substitution, and training of foreign officials.

The Federal Marshals Mission:

U.S. Marshals are the nation’s primary fugitive hunting organization and capture more federal fugitives each year than all other national law enforcement agencies combined.

The Secret Service Mission:

The United States Secret Service is mandated by statute and executive order to carry out two significant missions: protection and criminal investigations. The Secret Service protects the president and vice president, their families, heads of state, and other designated individuals; investigates threats against these protectees; protects the White House, vice president’s residence, foreign missions, and other buildings within Washington, D.C.; and plans and implements security designs for designated National Special Security Events. The Secret Service also investigates violations of laws relating to counterfeiting of obligations and securities of the United States; financial crimes that include, but are not limited to, access device fraud, financial institution fraud, identity theft, computer fraud; and computer-based attacks on our nation’s financial, banking, and telecommunications infrastructure.

Department Of Homeland Security:
Strategic Plan — Securing Our Homeland

TheDHSStrategicPlan"

The National Strategy for Homeland Security and the Homeland Security Act of 2002 served to mobilize and organize our nation to secure the homeland from terrorist attacks. This exceedingly complex mission requires a focused effort from our entire society if we are to be successful. To this end, one primary reason for the establishment of the Department of Homeland Security was to provide the unifying core for the vast national network of organizations and institutions involved in efforts to secure our nation. In order to better do this and to provide guidance to the 180,000 DHS men and women who work every day on this important task, the Department developed its own high-level strategic plan. The vision and mission statements, strategic goals and objectives provide the framework guiding the actions that make up the daily operations of the department.

Vision
Preserving our freedoms, protecting America ... we secure our homeland.

Mission
We will lead the unified national effort to secure America. We will prevent and deter terrorist attacks and protect against and respond to threats and hazards to the nation. We will ensure safe and secure borders, welcome lawful immigrants and visitors, and promote the free-flow of commerce.

Strategic Goals
Awareness -- Identify and understand threats, assess vulnerabilities, determine potential impacts and disseminate timely information to our homeland security partners and the American public.

Prevention — Detect, deter and mitigate threats to our homeland.

Protection — Safeguard our people and their freedoms, critical infrastructure, property and the economy of our Nation from acts of terrorism, natural disasters, or other emergencies.

Response — Lead, manage and coordinate the national response to acts of terrorism, natural disasters, or other emergencies.

Recovery — Lead national, state, local and private sector efforts to restore services and rebuild communities after acts of terrorism, natural disasters, or other emergencies.

Service — Serve the public effectively by facilitating lawful trade, travel and immigration.

Organizational Excellence — Value our most important resource, our people. Create a culture that promotes a common identity, innovation, mutual respect, accountability and teamwork to achieve efficiencies, effectiveness, and operational synergies.

It was long and drawn out I know, but did it mention alien abductees anywhere.

Now, if you were running between Mexico and the U.S. on a mule and were claiming to have been abducted by aliens to explain the saddle bags of illegal substances. That would be the DEA’s department.

If you left your company’s computer lab after embezzling millions and actually wired the funds to your personal accounts in various states and Men In Black were following you. That would be the Secret Service ‘special electronic crimes task force’.

If you are attending a conference under an assumed identity after disembarking from an international flight from Iran. I do believe the Men In Black holding you down on the floor would be Homeland Security.

Did you feel that despite the monitoring device on your ankle; you just had to attend the MUFON conference. Well buddy, you better hope your going to be abducted by aliens before U.S. Marshals abduct you.

While I do not refute all abductees stories; I do believe in most cases there are logical explanations. I also do not believe in this war on terror that there is enough oversight of federal level agencies and the actions of such agencies cannot be overlooked or justified because of this war. I am not saying that federal level agents are abducting U.S. citizens. But you may find yourself the subject of a low-level federal investigation into just what really happened to you; all in the name of this war on terror.
